Hello and welcome back to school! The thought of returning to school seemed so far off, but here we are! My favorite quote is, “If you want to have God laugh, make a plan.” We can prepare and plan to our heart’s desire, but at the end of the day, we must leave it in God’s hands and do the best we can.
In reflecting on these last few months, our lives have been turned upside down and inside out. I’m sure our kids have felt the mental health impact as well. I came across a brief Covid-19 screen from UCLA that addresses the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on children, adolescents, and their families. I have attached it if you were interested in filling this out with your child in mind. I am happy to connect with you to discuss findings and how to best help your child during the pandemic.
Additionally, I included an article which discusses how we can best help our children cope with changes during this time. This is a well written article with many resources for parents who want to know what they can do both at home and school to support your child, with many additional resources focused on the mental health of your child.
You are not alone during this time. Please call on me should you have any questions or concerns about your child. We are in this together and we will get through this together. I am only a phone call away!
